The aim-your-phone feature is super smooth. Hold your phone up to the sky to identify any celestial body. You can even see whats below the horizon down on the other side of the earth-- like looking through the planet. I think its an indispensable app for anyone who likes to be outdoors at night.

GET THIS APP! Best app Ive found for tracking and planning for astrophotographers. Huge issue with interruptions regarding any advertisements, either free or not. Never interrupt me while Im working. It is unforgivable.

Without this I would never know the moon from Mars. Only kidding but its a very helpful app. Love it

Weve used this app for years. Double-tap the screen to toggle motion so that wherever you point the iPhone/iPad the map moves to show you precisely what youre looking at. Since IOS 10 upgrade this primary feature is broken, often not working at all. Occasionally it does work briefly. Now when I double-tap the screen the entire view zoom out all the way until the sky is a small circle on the display and motion fails to work. I do hope they fix this soon. Its the main reason I bought it was to identify what I was looking at in the sky.

I love this app! Its great for those of us that cant afford a computerized GPS telescope. I can find what I want to look at with my phone, then manually aim my telescope at the object. The accuracy of this app was surprising. Its pretty much dead on! It also gives you realtime data on every planet in our galaxy.

App requires ALWAYS setting on when your location is tracked. Eats up battery by constantly tracking you even when you arent using it. Privacy concerns for that reason as well. Cant give highest rating to app until they only get location in the "while using" setting.

GoStarWatch is my go to app for information on what is going on in the sky. I use it constantly to do Real Sky Astrology forecasting. Most people dont realize that western astrologers are using an antiquated sky for their forecasts. I love that you can see all the stars below the horizon in this app. I love the feature that allows me to go back in time and see what was happening in the sky on historical dates. What a great thing to have in my pocket!

with the latest hardware and software updates the motion doesnt work on my devices any more. probably more apples fault with changing hardware and coding all the time. The solution they will give you for the app is that you can turn off the motion part. Which seems like buying a car and only sitting in the drive way with it.... But hey who am I. so in the short it may not work with you ios with motion control. But hey it just might.

Please stop popping up tips and marketing crap when I launch the app. Its a paid app. Act like it. It would also be nice if it would remember the last Messier object I looked up so I dont have to keep looking it up. Leave me where I left off. And wheres the NGC catalog already?

Go Sky Watch is easy to use, accurate with information and direction when point at Sky objects. Ton of fun to use, especially with my children. Highly recommend.

Great app, but the app I purchased as a gift was never sent to my friend, so beware.

If anything, it gives you a sense of place in the universe to know exactly where every star is. I personally like finding where our sun is at night.

Pros: Has lots of objects, good go to function, easy to use. Gives data about objects. Cons: Hard to read text on iPhone, pointing error can get significant.

GoSkyWatch is accurate and fun to use, and it has depth, too, with lots of information and graphics to give a skywatcher like me both intrigued and amused. I use it often both outside while viewing the night sky and as a ready reference at other times.
